Principal UX Designer at Jacobs | Flood Intelligence

I love to create, ideate, and develop design concepts that delight users.

I'm a multi-disciplinary designer based in Glasgow, Scotland, with 15+ years across luxury fashion, travel, engineering, and product. For the past several years I've focused on water management software – turning flood risk and hydrology into tools that modellers, engineers, and planners actually want to use.

About

I'm currently a Principal UX Designer in the Flood Intelligence team at Jacobs, working closely with our modelling community to make sure design choices stay authentic to the people who rely on the software every day.

About

I'm a multi-disciplinary designer based in Glasgow, Scotland. From a young age I knew I wanted to do something creative for a living – I was once set on being a fine art portrait painter, though that never quite worked out 😄 I'm grateful to do what I love for a career. It's challenging and competitive, but ultimately very rewarding.

I've had an eclectic career path, spending time across luxury fashion & jewellery, travel, engineering, and product. Each of those industries shaped my overall approach as a designer – and as a person.

I studied HND Visual Communication at Cardonald College in Glasgow, graduating with a Merit Advanced Diploma in 2010. Since then I've put a lot of time into self-initiated learning – coding, typography, 3D, and animation among them – though my true passions remain visual and experience design.

Outside of work: family time, off-the-beaten-track holidays, experimenting with new tools, and the occasional, increasingly rare, game of football.
